Sunday: 10am - 12pm
Doubles Leagues
Teams are mid season and all going well, albeit some very hot matches!
Senior ladies is going very well. It is a social daytime weekday league. The league is a competitive yet social league, lunch provided after a match. Really lovely events. Great fun to host at the club.
Chelmsford and District leagues - Men's 1 and 2 are doing well to raise the team up a division in the Chelmsford league. Mixed and ladies having some great battles and hope to maintain the current division.
Brentwood league Teams. No table data as yet. But some great results across all teams.
Great weather - no weather cancellations as yet! All players seem to be happy playing matches in some beautiful summer evenings. Men's 1 even went out to play at Hutton and Shenfield on that evening where it had been 40 degrees. Mixed 1 were also ready to play but the opposition declined - great commitment, if a little sweaty!
Hopefully Covid is becoming something that we are living alongside now and that is reflecting in the leagues. There is nowhere near the disruption of previous seasons. This is such a bonus and matches are beginning to feel normal again.
Winter fixtures are almost finished. Vic attended the meeting last week and completed over 100 Home and Away matches for our 8 teams. Fixture dates are available on the kitchen boards for you to note down or ask your captains for dates in advance. Thank you very much Vic!!!
Vic has consulted the Team Captains and worked hard with the fixtures puzzle and placed the matches on preferred team nights and also so matches don’t clash if you play Mixed tennis too. So lets up the commitment in all teams and enjoy the matches.
Big thank you to all of the Captains. They support one another, lend players where needed and keep Team tennis an enjoyable experience.
Home matches are all booked on the online system; feel free to come along and spectate and support your teams.
Singles
For those who prefer to play singles, of course, we encourage members to get together and battle it out. Friendly matches can be arranged internally amongst members or you can join a ladder. Members have the opportunity to play in a singles ladder called Sportch. This is included in your membership.
What's even better is that it is now open to Juniors!
